N.A.W.’s core mission is to question historically unchallenged narratives. Through writing and multi-disciplinary expression, its aim is to weave new voices into the dominant chorus of architecture’s story, helping to position critical thinking, dialogue and narration as a means of influencing how the architecture profession itself might evolve. The strength of this mission rests on the composition of the programme’s cohort members. Since foundation, N.A.W. has recruited members through a democratic open call, inviting any person of colour aged below 30 and living in London to apply. To date, submissions have been assessed by three criteria: Ideas, Argument, and Expression.
